FAQ's
What size will my 'Cross Stitch your own Photo!' be?
Our standard chart size is approximately 8" X 10" (20.5cm X 28cm) or 112 X 154 stitches using 14 count fabric. However depending on any special requests and the complexity of the cross stitch chart we may reduce or enlarge the canvas size.
How will I know how much thread to buy?
As well as producing an easy to read and use cross stitch chart in a choice of colour or black and white, we also provide a detailed sheet listing all the threads and thread lengths you will require. Unfortunately at the moment these cannot be purchased from Village Crafts.
Why does there appear to be odd colours on the chart?
Sometimes you will find a colour on your cross-sticth chart that you wouldn't generally expect to be there. The reason being that when all the different colours are stitched together it creates a kind of painted effect, and when hung on your wall and viewed the clever use of thread colours really comes into its own.
If there are just a couple of extra colours on the chart our cross stitch designer will make the decision whether to include them or not, and by sometimes removing and replacing with another colour this can also help in reducing the amount of different coloured threads you will neededddedd.
